The first ten ambulances of the total of 69 units bought by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection arrived in Moldova. These will be distributed to 32 pre-hospital emergency medical assistance points where the ambulances have a wear degree of over 90%, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry, the ambulances are of Russian make and meet all the international standards in the field. The medical equipment of the vehicles enables to provide emergency medical assistance of the highest quality. Another 59 ambulances are to be delivered by the end of April.
The Government this year allocated 273 million lei for purchasing another 168 ambulances: 35 units of type C (intensive care) and 133 units of type B (first aid).
The National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center provides high-quality emergency medical services to all the inhabitants of Moldova round-the-clock. In 2017, the Center offered emergency medical assistance to over 868,000 persons.
