Grape exports to the EU doubled in a year. Romania at the top, Russia at the bottom

The export of Moldovan grapes to the European Union market amounted to 627 million lei in the first ten months of this year. The Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization (MDED) says this is a 1.9-fold increase compared to the same period last year, IPN reports.

With Romania and Poland as the main trading partners, grape exports to the EU have more than doubled, - from 36% in 2021 to 74% in 2024.

"The figures demonstrate that our products can compete in the most demanding markets in the world", MDED said.

The Russian Federation is no longer the main market. The share, which constituted 48% in 2021, fell to 6% in 2024.
