Prime minister proposes setting up online work group for communicating with diaspora

At a meeting with the citizens participating in the Diaspora Days 2019, Prime Minister Maia Sandu proposed setting up a Working Group to operate online. Within its framework, representatives of the diaspora will be able to exchange ideas and come up with proposals for addressing urgent issues. According to a Government press release, the members of the diaspora stated that they were ready to volunteer in carrying out awareness and involvement campaigns with a view to solving various problems in the country, IPN reports.

Prime Minister Maia Sandu maintained that the Government intends, first and foremost, to create a functioning justice system, so that people would want to invest and set up businesses, without fear of being illegally taken over. At the same time, the prime minister emphasized that another Government objective was to create an economic system favourable to business development. “We have to provide conditions for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, especially in rural areas. We try to bring equity in the society. We need strategically to generate jobs in the regions.” Maia Sandu said.

Another topic discussed was the decentralization of projects with external support so that local public authorities could benefit directly from donors’ financing.
