In December, the political parties that contended in the presidential election of October 20 will receive 0.5 lei or 50 bani for each vote won in the election. The amount of the allowance for December was agreed by the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.

According to the legal provisions, if parliamentary, presidential or local elections are held during the calendar year, the CEC approves or revises the size of the allocations based on the election results, starting with the month following the date on which the election results were validated by the competent authorities.

Thus, the CEC determined and approved the allowance for December 2024 in the amount of 0.4937622 lei for each valid vote cast in favor of political parties and the electoral bloc during the presidential election of October 20, 2024.

At the same time, the payment of the allowance for December 2024 from the state budget was suspended for the Party for the Future of Moldova, led by former Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev. This follows a previous CEC decision by which the party was stripped of allowances paid from the state budget for a period of 12 months, starting with November 2024.
