About 130 kilometers in 100 villages are to be rebuilt or repaired in the framework of the "Europe is Close" program. Another program, also presented on Monday, is "European Courts in Chisinau Municipality", within which 20 courts will be modernized, IPN reports.

In a press conference, Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, said that among the main problems reported by citizens are the absence of roads and the poor condition of almost 50% of the roads. Under these conditions, the authorities decided to allocate 500 million lei for the first 100 localities, where the roads will be rehabilitated or built from scratch.

Vladimir Bolea noted that these are villages with up to 1,500 inhabitants for which 2 million lei will be allocated. By 5 million lei will be allocated to villages with up to 1,500 inhabitants, but which are in the process of amalgamation. For villages with more than 1,500 residents, 9 million lei will be allocated, but one condition is that the local authorities make a 10% contribution.

According to the minister, the mayor’s offices will take decisions together with the citizens to set the priorities. Application can be submitted from April 8 to May 12. "The way of applying is know because it is a new measure within the "European Village" - a program known by the mayor’s offices," said Vladimir Bolea.

For the second program, the state allocates 100 million lei or by 5 million for each court. The courts will be selected in the capital city and in towns that form part of the municipality. Owners' associations can apply to the program starting with April 9 on curteaeuropeana.md, which is to be launched.
