2 000-year-old Getic fortress to be reconstructed in Moldova

A Getic fortress that is 2 000 years old will be reconstructed in Moldova for the first time. It will be built again on the ruins of a fortress situated in the wood of Durlesti town. The project will be implemented in cooperation by the Moldova Business People Association (AOAM), the Edelweiss Foundation and the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the press service of AOAM. “The people must know and see the objects that form part of Moldova's patrimony. We will do much more for the tourists and ordinary people at educative level if we reconstruct such an object. We have waited for such a proposal or a long time,” said Alexandru Levinski, director of the Sciences Museum of the Academy of Sciences. For his part, AOAM president Vlad Plahotniuc said: “For me this project is a challenge to revive the patrimony and contribute to the restoration of the national dignity and pride.” A first step in the cooperation between the parties was the equipment of a computer room of the Academy's lycee for talented students who do mainly scientific and creative work. In this connection, the Academy's president Gheorghe Duca stressed that it is very important to invest in talented young people, in the future generations that will promote Moldova. The Moldova Business People Association is a nongovernmental, apolitical, nonprofit organization that aims to improve the business environment and support the entrepreneurial spirit for a sustainable economic development in Moldova, in accordance with the EU values.
