The Chisinau public heat utility has issued over 1,000 permits for connecting apartment buildings to the centralized heating system and 370 blocks were already connected.
SA Termocom director general Mihai Cernei Monday said that if the dwellers demand not being supplied with heat while it is warm outside, their buildings will be disconnected at night or during the day.
Mihai Cernei said that 120 kindergartens have been connected to the supply of heat until now. Three kindergartens cannot be supplied with heat owing to the high pressure inside their heating systems. The problem will be solved when the intensity of heat increases. It will happen towards the end of October, when the weather is expected to grow colder.
More than 50 pre-university education institutions and 24 medical institutions have so far asked to be supplied with heat.
Public Amenities Division head Petru Gontea said that a number of apartment buildings were disconnected from the centralized heating system in the morning of October 6 so that 20% of the municipal housing stock or about 300 blocks are now supplied with heat.
Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said that a formula for reaching connection parameters of 30% should be identified in the future so as to ensure the winter parameters, with higher intensity and temperature of heat.
