Primary, secondary, and high schools across the country are invited to apply for a grant program with a total budget of $4.32 million. Eligible institutions will be selected through a competitive process. Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, described the initiative as an ambitious and innovative project aimed at supporting schools in Moldova to adapt the educational process to current demands, IPN reports.

The School Grants Program will award 120 grants, each worth $36,000. These grants are intended to support projects focused on developing digital methods and interactive tools that align the educational process with modern realities. Examples include setting up digital laboratories, purchasing IT equipment, and other technology-related investments, according to the Ministry of Education and Research.

Additionally, the program will support projects that provide educational assistance for disadvantaged students, initiatives promoting girls' access to STEM fields, and projects aimed at effective learning assessment to identify and address gaps in the teaching and learning process.

Anna Olefir, Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank, stated that this program is a transformative initiative designed to strengthen the education system through collaboration, innovation, and improved teaching and learning practices. She emphasized that the School Grants Program seeks to advance the implementation of innovative practices in schools and promote the professional development of educators.

Eligible institutions may apply individually or as part of a consortium, with each entity allowed to submit only one project.

The deadline for the first stage of applications is December 31. The School Grants Program Guide is available on the Ministry of Education's official
website.

For more information about the program, institutions are encouraged to participate in informational sessions by completing an online registration form.

This initiative is part of the “Education Quality Improvement Project” (EQIP), implemented by the Ministry of Education and Research with financial support from the World Bank, the Global Partnership for Education, and the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for Early Learning Partnership.
