residential candidates will be able to take out interest-free loans of up to 50,000 lei. The amount was established today by the Central Electoral Commission.
The procedure of granting and repaying interest-free loans to electoral competitors for campaign purposes will be established by a regulation from the Minister of Finance, CEC vice president Pavel Postica said.
Also today, the CEC capped the funds that may be transferred to the electoral account of the participants in constitutional referendum of October 20 at 65,830,540 lei. The same cap is set for the presidential election to be held the same day.
