As many as 55 projects started by women or enterprises where 60% of the employees are women have been financed through the Business Advisory Services (BAS) Program of the EBRD Moldova during a year, IPN reports.

BAS project manager Ion Serbusca told a news conference that the program aims to encourage the women entrepreneurs to develop their own businesses.

The women who run a business or want to start one can apply for consultancy services to the BAS Program, which partially covers the costs of these services, up to €10,000.

One of the beneficiaries of the BAS Program is the Chisinau company “NetInfo”, which managed to implement quality standards recognized at international level with the financial assistance of the EBRD.

“NetInfo” director general Elena Mashkova said that during five months the company managed to apply four quality standards, with the assistance of a specialist. This will enable it to take part in public auctions held by state institutions, which is very difficult for small enterprises. Through the BAS, “NetInfo” received €5,500, which represented 60% of its costs.
