65% of the population considers that things in Moldova go wrong. The figure grew by 5% compared with the survey of November 2010. The people of Russian and Ukrainian nationalities and the persons with a low socioeconomic level and low and average level of education are the most dissatisfied, says the Public Opinion Barometer made public on May 30, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Over ¾ of the population continues to be dissatisfied with the work done by the administration in the main social areas. 89% of the respondents are not satisfied with the salaries, 88% with the job, while 87% with the living standards. The number of dissatisfied persons is on the rise.
The poll shows that 56% of the population is not satisfied with the present economic situation, 37% believe the economic situation remained unchanged compared with last year, while 40% said it is worse. The number of those who said the situation worsened is by 8% higher compared with the previous poll.
27% of the population considers the economic situation next year will be worse. The economic security continues to be the main problem in Moldova. 74% of those polled do not enjoy decent living standards, for 34% of the respondents the disposable incomes are not sufficient for the basic necessities even, while
40% manage to cover only the strict necessities.
61% of the people continue to be concerned about the prices, 53% about poverty, 45% about the unemployment rate, 42% about the living standards, 85% about the insufficiency of money, while 83% about the political life.
Almost half of the population said the situation has not changed compared with a year ago, while each third resident considers it is worse. 45% of the respondents said it is hard to live, but they cope, while 21% said the situation could have been worse.
The poll was commissioned by the Public Policy Institute and carried out by the Center of Sociological, Politological and Psychological Analysis and Investigations CIVIS between May 6 and 24. It covered a sample of 1,152 persons from 75 settlements. The margin of error is 3%.
