75 personalities come into possession of awards

As many 75 personalities honored by the Government received awards of 10,000 lei each on December 29. They said that it was a welcome support and appreciation of the work done by them their entire life, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prime Minister Vlad Filat thanked those attending for their effort and promised he will make everything possible to create appropriate working conditions for hem. “I call on you to contribute to the spiritual development of our society by your own example. I hope that this meeting will be a good start,” he stated. Vlad Filat urged the people of art to regard the Government decision by which they were awarded as a sincere attitude of the authorities. “This year we allocated money for printing books. It is absolutely necessary to incorporate your works into the education system,” he said, adding that he discussed possibilities of ensuring better cooperation between the ministries and the people of art with the ministers of culture and education. Twenty of the 75 personalities were visited at home or at the hospital and handed over the prizes. Among the personalities are Gheorghe Urschi, Spiridon Vangheli, Mihai Volontir, Ioana Capraru, Dumitru Matcovschi, Mihai Curagau, Eugen Doga, Maria Sarabas, and Ion Ciocanu.
