88 new cases of pandemic flu confirmed

Eighty-eight cases of pandemic influenza were confirmed on Wednesday, November 11, the National Scientific Practical Center of Preventive Medicine informed, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the quoted source, 1,141 suspect cases of pandemic flu A(H1N1) have been recorded by November 12 in the morning. 169 cases of these were under examination. The virus was detected in 555 cases of the 972 examined. Four persons have died – three men aged 35, 46 and, respectively, 50 years and a woman aged 53. Two of the victims were from Ceadar-Lunga. The frequent washing of the hands with water and soap, use of wet antibacterial wipes and covering of the mouth with a handkerchief when coughing or sneezing, disinfection of the surfaces, wearing of facial and respiratory masks help prevent pandemic flu. Doctors also recommend having a good sleep, eating food rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals and having an active lifestyle. Persons who experience flu-like symptoms should contact their physician immediately and should avoid going out in public.
