Engineers neutralized a thrower bomb and 14 hand grenades from World War II in the village of Serpeni last month, IPN reports.
"It was one of the most dangerous demining missions", the senior officer of the Genius Service announced.
The mission in the village of Șerpeni, Anenii Noi rayon, was carried out by the "Codruˮ battalion's bomb disposal team led by Captain Nicolae Chilaru. The engineers detected and neutralized including 2117 cartridges and one artillery shell.
All explosive objects dated back to the World War II period and were destroyed under maximum security conditions, the Ministry of Defense said.
During the month of November, the National Army's engineers carried out seven demining missions, during which 22 explosive objects from the Second World War were destroyed.
Experts warn citizens not to touch the explosive objects, to mark the place where they found them and to call 112 immediately.
