Access to the Financial Control information subsystem of the Central Election Commission will be partially limited during the electoral period. The CEC said that this is a precautionary measure to guarantee the integrity and confidentiality of data on financial reports in the context of the October 20 election, IPN reports.
In order to ensure the timely and continuous submission of financial management reports, users who will require access to the Financial Control subsystem from outside the country will inform the Commission in advance about the period in which they will be absent from the country. For those individuals, the Commission will ensure individual secure access to the system.
The CEC noted that it is a justified and indispensable measure given the increased risk of cyberattacks during this period of time. The decision is part of the authorities’ effort to secure critical infrastructures against potential threats.
