A minibus running on the Cahul-Chisinau route with 18 persons on board crashed with another minibus on the Hancesti-Chisinau road. Diana Fetco, press officer of the National Patrolling Inspectorate, has told IPN that there are no dead people, but the drivers of the two vehicles got trapped and an extrication team was called to set them free.
The accident happened near Buteni village of Hancesti district at about 1pm. Ten persons sustained injuries and eight of these were admitted to the Hancesti District Hospital. All the passengers were sitting when the collision occurred. There are no children among these.
The preliminary cause of the accident is the changing of lanes to the counterflow lanes by the motor vehicle with which the interurban minibus collided.
The National Patrolling Inspectorate said the given road section is not closed for traffic now.
