The reaction of the political leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) to Prime Minister Vlad Filat’s requests will be negative at first. The atmosphere inside the alliance will normalize only after a period of time, when the AEI leaders meticulously analyze the statement the Premier made following consultations with society, political analyst Anatol Taranu stated for Info-Prim Neo. As to the suggestions made by Vlad Filat to the components of the ruling alliance, Anatol Taranu said that these proposals will have a value only if they are implemented. Otherwise, the Government may resign. The analyst stressed that by that statement the Premier took in his hand the political initiative as regards the reform of the law institutions and combating of corruption. According to Anatol Taranu, it is very important that Vlad Filat spoke about the election of the head of state and avoidance of early elections. The amendment of the Constitution is a first step in this direction. On July 12 in the evening, Vlad Filat made an address to the people, centering on the results of the consultations held with society. He said that it won’t be him to split the AEI and promised he will carry on till the end his fight against fraud schemes and corruption. He urged the AIE parties to stop personalizing and politicizing state institutions as this hinders the election of the President of Moldova. The Premier underlined two priorities for the AIE - to ensure efficient governance and to ensure political stability. He also put forward a set of requests to the other AIE members, stressing their rejection will mean the Government has no political support and will have to take the necessary decisions.
