The National House of Social Insurance (CNAM) warns that all persons who own legal forms, such as sole proprietorships, patents or peasant farmsteads, are obliged to pay the mandatory health insurance premium for 2025, even if they have no income or economic activity, IPN reports.

Owners of agricultural land will pay 1,264 lei, self-employed persons in retail trade, excluding trade in excise goods, will pay 1,895 lei, and founders of individual enterprises and peasant farmsteads, patent holders and those who carry out activities phytotechny or horticulture will pay 2,527 lei. People who practice regulated professions, such as notaries, lawyers, bailiffs, mediators or family doctors, will pay 5,054 lei.

The CNAM emphasized the importance of correctly paying the premium, recommending entrepreneurs to use the state identification number (IDNP) in order to avoid any errors that can prevent obtaining the status of insured person. If the payment is made with the entity's tax code, it will not be valid for registration in the health insurance system.

Persons who do not pay health insurance by the legal time limit, from April 1 will pay the premium in full amount, i.e. 12,636 lei, as well as a penalty for each day of delay. The status of individually insured person is granted by the CNAM from the date of payment of the health insurance premium in a fixed amount, but not earlier than January 1, being valid until January 31, 2026.
