A Moldovan was arrested at the border with 1,500 ducklings brought illegally from Ukraine, IPN reports, quoting the Border Service.
The case happened this morning. Special investigation officers of the East Regional Division and employees of the Bender Customs Post stopped a VAZ car in the direction of Tudora-Starokazacie border crossing point. It was driven by a man from Caplani village of Stefan-Voda district. Fifteen boxes with ducklings were found in the trunk.
The birds were smuggled from Ukraine without being declared at the customs post.
The documentation and the ducklings were transmitted to the Customs Service for further investigation.
