Balti mayor’s office refuses to offer hall for benefit concert staged by “Solutia”

The administration of the Balti mayor’s office did not allow the Charity Foundation “Solutia” (“Solution”) to use the Culture and Youth Hall to stage a benefit concert for children of the Balti-based Temporary Placement Center, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Foundation. The concert was to take place on December 3, when it is celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. As the Balti mayor’s office informed about its refusal in the evening of December 2, no other hall could be found so quickly and the concert was cancelled, said the organizers. The communiqué also says that the Balti mayor’s office, which is managed by a representative of the Communist Party, offered the Main Cultural House in Balti to the PCRM for holding a meeting the day the concert was to take place. Alexandru Nesterovski, the head of the “Solutia” branch in Balti, expressed his regret at the fact that the children become victims of the political games of the local authorities. The Balti mayor’s office did not comment on the case.
