The television channel NIT will be penalized if it’s proven that it broke the law, the chairman of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) Marian Pocaznoi said in Parliament on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Liberal MP Valeriu Saharneanu asked inviting the BCC chairman to Parliament after the NIT broadcast an article saying that Prime Minister Vlad Filat and Speaker Marian Lupu intend to find refuge in Romania. The lawmaker accused the channel of propaganda actions. ”The same TV channel presents a scenario, according to which the Parliament of Moldova will flee over the Prut. The NIT also said that the state budget is distributed according to ethnical criteria, while the center of Chisinau is against Taraclia. This channel behaves as if the Broadcasting Code would not exist,” Valeriu Saharneanu said in the March 15 sitting of Parliament. Marian Pocaznoi said the BCC will examine this subject in a public meeting. If irregularities are identified, the Council will impose penalties and if the situation is more difficult, it will send the materials to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
