More than 100 students of the Chisinau Theoretical Lyceum “Children’s Academy” were awarded for the results achieved at different contests in the Laureates Gala 2015 on May 12. Teachers and parents of children with a good academic standing who become actively involved in the lyceum’s activities received diplomas, IPN reports.
The lyceum’s director Nina Horjan said that by such events they promote the nice things done by children during the year. “It is also an event to render homage to the teachers who dedicate themselves for giving light to a nation. The supreme art of the teacher is to cause the joy of creative expression and the joy of knowledge. Students’ successes are today our joy,” she stated.
The Ministry of Education’s representative Angela Popovici said the academy is first of all a scientific community whose quality is recognized by the quality of its members. “The institution, if it is responsible, must educate valuable young people and must promote teaches of a high quality by its name,” she said.
Elena Vorotneac, spokesman for the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said that every laureates gala is an occasion for showcasing the merits of students, teachers and parents. “The Lyceum “Children’s Academy” achieved remarkable results at municipal, national and international levels not only once,” she stated.
It was the second Laureates Gala for the over 400 students of the Theoretical Lyceum “Children’s Academy”.
