Biometric identification through fingerprints

The Security and Information Service (SIS) on April 1 launched a new, online biometric fingerprint identification service, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the SIS. The service was launched during the international specialized exhibition Cominfo Moldova – 2009. SIS deputy director Alexandru Luncari said that the biometric identification ensures efficient protection against falsification, interception and change of the fingerprints and a rigorous authentication. Unlike other methods, the biometric identification relies on physical characteristics that are unique to each person, not on indexes (name or password). Therefore, this method is much safer.
