Broadcasting authority ordered to prolong ProTV's license

The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) will prolong the license of Pro TV in Moldova, in conformity with the decision of the Supreme Court of Justice, the channel said in a press release, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The judgment comes after Pro TV appealed the BCC's decision to deny the channel an extension of the license term in December 2008. The channel was instead compelled to participate in a competition and try to win its license back. “Today's judgment by the Supreme Court of Justice demonstrates that Pro TV's actions for protecting its legitimate rights in Moldova have been right”, the channel said.
