Amid the energy crisis in Moldova, the government has developed a project to certify the energy performance and efficiency of buildings. The certificate aims to save energy resources and promote their rational use. Ivan Gadiac, Head of Department at the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), and Piotr Comarov, an expert at the Alliance for Energy Efficiency and Renewables (AEER), discussed this during the "Moldova Reality" show.
"A certificate will be introduced to show consumers the actual energy performance of a property before purchasing a house or apartment", said CNED's Ivan Gadiac.
The certificate will be issued by accredited specialists, enabling potential homeowners to understand the energy consumption costs of their property in advance.
In the context of energy efficiency, AEER expert Piotr Comarov announced that starting next year, projects will be launched to facilitate citizens' efforts to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. Norway will act as the implementation partner for these projects.
Additionally, energy specialists emphasized that outdated and inefficient equipment is being replaced, a measure expected to help stabilize Moldova's energy crisis.
The building energy certification project was developed by the Ministry of Energy with the support of the Moldova Energy Security Activity (MESA) project, backed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
