The campaign prior to the presidential election of Romania began on Friday and will last for 30 days, until May 3, IPN reports.

The Central Electoral Bureau of Romania registered 11 competitors in the race.

To ensure order in the campaign, a number of institutions were designated to manage complaints, including the Central Electoral Bureau, the county/district electoral bureaus in Bucharest or those for the diaspora, as well as the Constitutional Court of Romania.

As for the online campaign, complaints related to large platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok, X, etc.) are sent exclusively to the Central Electoral Bureau. Other petitions are directed to local electoral bureaus or Office 48, intended for the diaspora, according to Euronews-Romania.

The first round of voting will take place on Sunday, May 4, inside Romania. Outside the country, one can vote on May 2, 3 or 4 at any polling station established abroad.

If a candidate announces his/her withdrawal and calls on the electors to vote for another candidate, this does not mean that the votes for the withdrawn candidate will be added to the second candidate.
