The cause of the fire that started in a seventh-floor apartment of a building in Botanica district of Chisinau in the evening of July 17 will be established in 10 days, within an investigation launched by specialists of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
Contacted by IPN, the Service’s press officer Diana Turcan said the fire damaged the balcony that is 3.7 square meters in area and a kitchen wall. The neighbors weren’t affected.
A child aged three and his mother were taken out of the burning apartment. The woman needed medical care as she inhaled fumes, but wasn’t hospitalized. Firefighters said playing with open fire is the possible cause of the fire.
