The Constitutional Court (CC) rejected the application by which MP Vasile Năstase asked to suspend the Contravention Code provisions concerning the imposition of fines for the non-observance of the epidemic disease prophylaxis, prevention and combing measures, IPN reports.
The CC noted that it does not have the duty to exercise constitutional control over the documents adopted by the Commission for Exceptional Situations and thus cannot suspend the legal effect of these.
The Court held that the author of the application only invoked provisions of the Law on the Constitutional Court, without arguing the necessity of suspending the legal effect of the challenged provisions.
The CC’s judgment takes effect when it is passed and is published in the Official Gazette.
