The training at the posts of joint peacekeeping forces hasn’t been coordinated and this fact causes new tensions in the Security Zone. The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) came with a comment in this regard as a result of exercises that took place at posts located near Dubăsari, Cocieri, Bender, Fârlădeni and Hagimus, IPN reports.
Moldova’s delegation to the JCC states that on April 23, the military contingent of the Russian Federation within the Joint Peacekeeping Forces (JPF) conducted training for cases of so-called “imitation of repelling of attacks on JPF posts”.
“The Republic of Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission declares that the conduct of training without the necessary coordination causes new tensions in the Security Zone, scaring the population and providing additional arguments that the founding acts of the peacekeeping mission on the Nistru River are seriously and systematically violated,” reads a press release.
Chisinau calls on all the components of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces to exclude such provocative actions that run counter to the principles of peacekeeping and the legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
