Chisinau Land Division employee caught taking bribe

Officers of the National Anticorruption Center caught an employee of the Chisinau City Hall’s Land Division in the act of taking bribe. Senior specialist Ion Golban has worked in the local public administration for over 15 years, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the City Hall. According to the communiqué, the Land Division employee asked for €500 for issuing documents confirming the ownership right over a plot adjoining a private house. The decision by which the ownership right over that plot was authenticated was passed earlier by the Chisinau Municipal Council. As a result of such an act, the employee will be dismissed. The Chisinau City Hall stressed it supports the National Anticorruption Center’s measures aimed at combating corruption among employees of municipal divisions. The Chisinau administration calls on companies and people to provide information about involvement of persons in acts of corruption and audio and video recordings so as to identify similar cases and reduce corruption.
