Citizens from diaspora and Transnistria can register online for elections

The citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are abroad or who have the domicile on the left side of the Nistru and intend to vote in the next ordinary parliamentary elections can register beforehand. For the purpose, they should fill out online registration forms in the rubric “Registration Beforehand” on www.alegator.md, IPN reports.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) said the voters can register in advance throughout the year except for the last 45 days before the election day. Within 25 days of the election day, the voter can annul the earlier made registration. The date of parliamentary elections is set by Parliament decision. The mandate of the current legislature expires on November 30 and the parliamentary election are to take place within three months.

The registration can also be made on paper, by submitting an application signed individually or collectively to the  CEC and/or the embassies and consular offices of Moldova.

The registration beforehand will enable to estimate the number of persons who will vote abroad and on the left side of the Nistru River, who will cast their ballots at polling places established on Moldova’s territory.
