The Chisinau City Hall said that the building permit for the construction that is to be erected at 10 Zimbrului St was issued in compliance with all the legal provisions.
The reaction comes after people living in the area accused the local administration of favoring a private company to the detriment of a family that had been using that lot for decades, IPN reports.
"The City Hall issued the permissive documents in strict accordance with the current legislation," Vasile Chirilescu, of the City Hall, has told IPN.
According to him, the building permit was issued in compliance with the provisions of Law No. 163/2010 on the authorization of the execution of construction works and the procedures stipulated by the applicable regulatory framework.
The statement comes after, during a press conference organized by a group of residents, these asked for an investigation into how Tophome Construct SRL obtained the necessary documents to start the works. According to them, the authorities ignored the repeated requests to clarify the legal status of the given lot.
