Commission of inquiry: No competent body asked for information from phone carriers

None of the competent bodies requested information from phone carriers about calls made from or to the phones of the participants in the hunting in the Domneasca Forest, which resulted in the death of a man. The announcement was made by Anatolie Zagorodnyi, who heads the commission of inquiry into the hunting incident, after the questioning, Info-Prim Neo reports. Anatolie Zagorodnyi said that only the competent bodies can ask for such information. The parliamentary commission cannot do it. After the December 2 hearing, Deputy Minister of Health Gheorghe Turcanu told the press that he found out about the incident from the then prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco, who asked that a patient be hospitalized in the national institutions. After he informed himself about this case, he established that the patient cannot be transported. He could be only operated on the spot. The deputy minister also said that he didn’t know the circumstances in which the young man was wounded and thus it wasn’t his duty to inform Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi. “About 120 persons die daily and the minister is not informed about each of them,” said Turcanu. Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi told the journalists after the questioning that he found out about the incident on January 6. “I should have been informed immediately,” he stated. Deputy Minister of the Interior Ion Bodrug was also questioned, but he refused to talk to the press. The director of the Border Police Dorin Purice said that he found out about this case from the minister of the interior. Ex-prosecutor general Valeriu Zubco will be questioned on February 4, while Prime Minister Vlad Filat, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu, and the Democrats Vlad Plahotniuc and Marian Lupu on February 5. The latter hasn’t yet confirmed his presence.
