The press in Comrat reported that the local mayor’s office is facing an acute shortage of funds for paying salaries to employees. According to mayor Sergey Anastasov, such a state of affairs is due to the epidemiological situation and the quarantine measure that led to a serious decline in the amounts collected into the municipal budget.
“We will put forward the decision to pay 50-70% of the salary to our employees. The mayor and the deputy mayors agree to be paid less,” stated Sergey Anastasov.
He noted that the most serious challenges will be yet confronting them as the local enterprises and service providers do not work and do not pay taxes into the municipal budget. A low number of persons are currently working at municipal enterprises and the citizens are consulted only by phone.
