The Red Cross Society of Moldova will be included in the list of organizations whose dues and debts to international organizations are covered with state budget money. A decision to this effect was taken in the February 24 meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.
Thus, a sum of about 20,000 lei will be annually earmarked in the state budget for paying dues to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for financing the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Red Cross Society of Moldova is a benevolent humanitarian association that works in cooperation with the public authorities, in accordance with the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Additional Protocols of 1997, which were signed by Moldova.
Moldova is a member of over 65 international organizations.
