Moldova’s Acting President Marian Lupu sent a condolence message to his Russian counterpart Dmitri Medvedev, expressing his regret at the plane crash that happened near Petrozavodsk airport, Info-Prim Neo reports. The message says that the news about the plane accident that resulted in many victims saddened Moldova. “In this difficult moment for Russia, please offer our condolences and support to the Russian people and families of those who died in the catastrophe,” Marian Lupu says in his message. Prime Minister Vlad Filat also sent a condolence message to Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. “In the name of the Moldovan people, please give our condolences and support to the families, relatives and close people of those killed,” reads the Premier’s message. Forty-four people have been killed and eight injured in the plane crash in northwestern Russia. The RussAir Tupolev 134 attempted to land on a motorway about 1km from Petrozavodsk airport in the republic of Karelia, but crashed and caught fire. The plane had 43 passengers and nine crew.
