The Central Committee of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) decided that the eighth Congress of the party will take place on November 20, 2016, IPN reports.
In a press release, the PCRM says the decision was taken in the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Party of Communists last weekend. The Central Committee examined the task of improving communication with the voters. The party’s chairman Vladimir Voronin presented a report on the issue.
The meeting examined the extension of the list of delegates to the eighth Congress of the PCRM and approved the composition of the commission for the synthesis, modification and supplementation of the party’s statutes and program.
There were provided no details about the agenda of the Congress that will take place 20 days after the first round of the October 30 presidential elections and five days after the possible second round of voting. In the countries and parties with democratic traditions, the party congresses in post-electoral periods examine the performance of parties in the election campaign and decide the future political fate of their leaders.
