Officers of the National Investigations Inspectorate arrested a married couple on suspicion that these recruited and sexually exploited young women from different regions of the country. The 35-year-old woman and the man aged 57 were placed under arrest for 30 days, IPN reports.
The investigation officers established that the two owned a sauna in Ungheni town. The sexually exploited girls were from socially deprived families. Several of these lived in the sauna. The ‘business’ was started about two years ago.
It was determined that the girls provided sexual services for 500 lei paid additionally to the charge per an hour in the sauna. Two of the girls were minors, being aged 16.
The couple faces 15 to 20 years behind bars or life for procuring and trafficking in children.
