The Cricova sparkling wine will be included in the guidebook of the world’s best frothy wines as a result of the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2016 held in the UK, IPN reports.
A panel of tasting experts selected 292 champagnes and sparkling wines. Of these, 149 won gold, while 143 won silver and will be included in the aforementioned guidebook that will be available in 13 countries. The contest results will be disseminated by about 45 thematic magazines.
Cricova director general Iurie Carp said the given result confirms once again the skillfulness of the company’s oenologists and is an accomplishment in its efforts to enter the UK market as a producer of sparkling wines. He expressed his conviction that the international recognition enjoyed by this competition will offer additional visibility to the company at world level and will support it in its intentions to join the global community of famous sparling producers.
The winning sparkling wine was produced in a limited edition of 14,000 bottles by blending the sorts Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon.
