Some 70% of Cricova Winery’s exports last year were destined for EU markets. It goes to a volume of about 2 million bottles sold on the Romanian market and 1.2 million bottles sold in other European countries, IPN reports.
“In recent years, the European Union has become a vital trading partner for the Republic of Moldova and the Moldovan wines, especially those of Cricova Winery, are appreciated by European consumers,” said the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
Cricova Winery managed to expand distribution in over 100 cities in Europe, reaching today 17 European countries.
In 2023, Moldovan wine exports brought more than US$111 million to the Republic of Moldova. The European Union was the main destination of Moldovan wine exports last year. That’s where 45% of exports went. Another 29% went to other states, while 26% to CIS countries.
