A collection of embroidered peasant blouses from Moldova and Romania will be displayed within the Day of Embroidered Blouse at the exhibitions center “Moldexpo” on June 21, acting Minister of Culture Monica Babuc told a news conference.
The exhibition will contain the collection of a young doctoral student studying in Romania, which includes 1,000 blouses, a collection from Gura Humorului of Bucovina, a collection of the “Cristea House” of Chisinau, works by craftsmen from the Romanian area and national Ukrainian blouses provided by the Community of Ukrainian Women of Moldova.
“This exhibition is mounted not only for recreation, but also with the aim of promoting and knowing the embroidered peasant blouse. The Day of Embroidered Blouse this year will have a special tone,” stated Monica Babuc.
She expressed her contentment with the fact that the Government approved of her initiative to celebrate the Day of the National Costume, which is to be marked each fourth Sunday of June. “We must promote and protect the national costume, which is a national value. I hope Parliament will also support this initiative,” she stated.
