Doctoral students who will receive excellence and nominal scholarships selected

Twelve students studying for their doctorates will benefit from excellence scholarships of 2,500 lei, while another seven will receive nominal scholarships of 2,000 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. The contest was organized by the Academy of Sciences of Moldova. The Academy's president Gheorghe Duca said 44 applicants took part in the contest. Priority was given to the applicants who published articles in national and international magazines, hold patents on inventions and delivered speeches at specialized conferences. The academician said most of the applicants were from the Technical University of Moldova, the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, and the Academy of Sciences' Institute of Applied Physics. Such institutions as the Balti-based State University “Alecu Ruso”, the State University of Comrat, the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts, the Academy “Stefan cel Mare”, the Scientific-Practical Center of Preventive Medicine, the Institute of Phtiziopneumology “Chiril Draganiuc”, and the Cardiology Institute informed the Academy of Sciences that they do not have candidates who meet the conditions of the contest.
