Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited a state-subsidized company in the village of Calfa, Anenii Noi district. The head of government spoke with the business owners about the challenges they face, the support provided by the government, and their development plans, IPN reports.

"Moldova needs more people like those I met in Calfa - individuals who take responsibility to turn initiatives into concrete actions, contributing to economic development and job creation," stated Dorin Recean.

The company’s main activity is the import, packaging, and sale of fresh vegetables, greens, and salads throughout the Republic of Moldova. Its products are sold in the country’s largest retail chains and catering units.

Founded in May 2005, the company currently employs around 60 people.

Between 2019 and 2023, the government granted the company nearly 12 million lei in subsidies. The funds were invested in packing houses, refrigeration units, and equipment for processing, drying, and freezing fruits and vegetables.

"I encourage everyone with a business idea to take the first step, because the government will support them," the Prime Minister added.

The state is currently running several support initiatives for entrepreneurs - the government’s “373” program, as well as grants and financing opportunities provided by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) and the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA).
