Villagers from Drepcauti, Briceni have their property confiscated and cannot cultivate their land independently. The village’s mayor Ghenadie Ioxa, accompanied by locals, in a news conference at IPN, said their constitutional right to ownership is violated.
The dispute between land owners and Drebozaci SRL, which cultivates the land, continues, while the people are involved in litigations. The villagers said they want to donate the land to their children or to cultivate the land independently, but cannot do it because their property was confiscated. Relatives of employees of SRL Drebozaci received 100% of the value of the land, while they are offered only 10% or at most 40% of the real value of the land.
Mayor Ghenadie Ioxa said rich persons from Chisinau are trying to change the nature of the conflict between land owners and Drebozaci SRL. Representatives of the company behave towards land owners as if they are slaves of this business entity.
Galina Popovich, cadastral engineer in Drepcauti, said that based on applications submitted by locals, she asked specialists from Briceni to do the necessary measurements so that each of the owners knows the borders of their land. As a result, she was threatened and humiliated by representatives of Drebozaci SRL
Vasile Cojocari from Drepcauti, who has an accentuated disability, said he inherited the land, but Drebozaci SRL took it over based on false contracts. The man said he receives only 300 kg of wheat, 50 kg of sunflower seeds and 15 kg of sugar for each of the plots he possesses, even if the wheat harvest annually reaches 4,000-4,500 kg.
Villager Nina Gushchuk requested the administration of Drebozaci SRL to annul the decision to confiscate her house and give her land back as she wants to cultivate it independently.
Villager Nicolae Brega said his land in 1999 was valued at 16,300 lei, while Drebozaci SRL has earned about 400,000 lei based on his land since then. The value of his property is in the pockets of “Cojocari, Proca and Palamariuc”, who are employees of Drebozaci SRL, which compiled false contracts in his name. He decided to cultivate his land himself, but the company prevents him from doing this.
The villagers accuse Drebozaci SRL of drawing up false contracts for a ten-year period, saying their right to ownership is thus violated. The land owners said they want to cultivate their land themselves. The villagers who gave the news conference said they represent about 400 land owners from Drepcauti.
