Base rate on main monetary policy operations reduced to 3.60%


The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) decided to decrease the base rate on the main monetary policy operations by 0.15 percentage points to 3.60%. The Executive Board of the NBM also voted to decrease the required reserves ratio by 2 percentage points for both lei and foreign currency.

Premier Energy to develop renewable energy assets in Moldova

Premier Energy ÎCS, which is part of the international conglomerate EMMA Capital Group controlled by Czech businessman Jiří Šmejc, will develop renewable energy assets in Moldova, IPN reports with reference to Agerpres, which quotes a press release of the Group.

“373” Program is extended to trade sector SMEs

The “373” Program is extended to a wider group of beneficiaries. “Besides the subsidization of interest rates, new components are added, related to loan guarantee, which is important for small and medium-sized enterprises. Through these, we will stimulate the growth of investments, the creation of new jobs, will increase the added value and, correspondingly, will have higher salaries for employees,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated in Wednesday’s meeting of the Cabinet.

Romania has become the main trade partner of Moldova and brought the largest foreign investments, stated Romanian Senate President Nicolae Ciucă during the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion Forum, which took place in Iasi on May 10.
