Eight persons to compete for post of prosecutor general

Eight persons have filed applications to fill the position of prosecutor general. The deadline expired on March 15, at 4pm, the selection commission’s chairman Corneliu Gurin has told Info-Prim Neo. The applicants are: jurist Valeriu Plesca; lawyer Vitalie Pirlog; lawyer Emanoil Plosnita; prosecutor Gheorghe Nogai; jurist Mihail Petrache; former employee of the Ministry of the Interior Boris Muravschi, ex-prosecutor Tudor Suveica, and lawyer Ilie Rotaru, who earlier applied for the post of head of state. On March 18, the commission will hold a meeting to approve the list of contenders and to announce the next stages of the contest. The post of prosecutor general fell vacant after Valeriu Zubco tendered his resignation following the tragic hunting incident in the Domneasca Forest.
