The Moldovan team won a bronze medal and an honorable mention in the 8th European Junior Olympiad in (EJOI).
The bronze medal was won by Alexei Baca, a student at School 42 in Chisinau’s Codru suburb, and the honorable mention went to Andrei Povar, a student at the Dimitrie Cantemir Lyceum in Bălți. The Moldovan team at the Olympiad was made up of four students.
The 8th European Olympiad for Juniors in Informatics took place during August 16-22, with Moldova hosting the event for the first time. The Olympiad brought together 98 students from 26 European countries. In total, the jury awarded 9 gold medals, 16 silver medals, 30 bronze medals and 9 honorable mentions.
