Elderly woman dies in house fire

An 87-year-old woman who lived alone was found dead in her house in Cobani, Glodeni. Most probably she died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a fire caused by the faulty stove. Mayor of Cobani Ivan Pluta has told Info-Prim Neo that none of the woman’s children is alive. The social worker and the daughter-in-law, who lives nearby, looked after the old woman. The fire damaged only things around the stove. The woman was discovered by her granddaughter, who came to visit her. She was lying near the stove and had burns on the body. According to the statistics of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the 285 fires that happened so far this year claimed 33 lives, including of two children.
