Annulled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 65th Eurovision Song Contest, which was to take place in Rotterdam, will be broadcast live through a special program. The show “Eurovision Song Celebration 2020” will present all the 41 songs that qualified for the competition, IPN reports.

In March, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) communicated its decision not to hold the event this year owing to the uncertainty related to the spread of COVID-19 and the restrictions imposed by the governments of many of the 41 participating states. The organizers of the contest thought about an online alternative. The program will include the 41 songs of the competitors of 2020 and also live performances filmed by artists.

Moldova is represented by singer Natalia Gordienko, who also recorded the song and sent it to the organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The event will be broadcast by the Dutch television and the EBU simultaneously in the 41 countries that were to take part in the contest this year, starting at 10pm on May 16.
