Ion Chicu, president of the Party of Development and Consolidation, and his initiative group submitted documents to the Central Electoral Commission to be registered in the presidential race.
The former prime minister announced this on social media. “Together for the country!” declared Ion Chicu.
The Central Electoral Commission is to examine the documents submitted within 3 days and adopt a decision. The registered group must collect in support of the candidate at least 15,000 and at most 25,000 signatures from at least half of the number of second-level administrative units.
The deadline for submitting documents for the registration of initiative groups is August 31.
